Elizabeth
came to the U.S. on the ship "TRAVE" on
March 11, 1907 (Ellis Island spelled her name "Erzsebet) and went to Erie, PA to her
brother-in-law Andrew Grega at 1114 Prospect St.
She was a maid servant when she came from Karos and
had $2.
Her husband and her
lived at 1106 Prospect (now 11th Street) in Erie, PA
according to the 1908 Erie Directory. Elizabeth
then lived two doors away from her sister Mary Kurta
Grega when Anna Grega Kuzma was born at 1114 Prospect.
Her husband, John
Schiller, came on the Lahn on June 13, 1901 under the
name "Janos Silluler." John's father came on the
Cassel on April 19, 1902 (under the name Janos) and then
went back and died in Slovakia.
She was called
"Aunt Lizzy" by all and has Lizala on her
tombstone. She was 28 when she died in
childbirth.
The maps below show Elizabeth's birth location in Slovakia.
